SRI YATHIRAJA RAMANUJA TRUST – HISTORY
A public charitable trust know as Sri Yathiraja Ramanuja Trust was formed on 27th January, 1993 for promoting Social, Medical, Educational and Cultural Services for the benefit of the public and for rendering help to the needy, aged and diferrently abled people.
As a first step, the Trust constructed a “Samudaya Bhavana” Community Center on a leased land measuring 70′ x 120′ at the Yathiraja Mutt compound, Sampige Road, Malleswaram, Bangalore. This cultural center is named as Sri Ramanuja Samskrithi Bhavanam named after the great Saint Acharya Sri Ramanuja. This project has received the blessings of His Holiness Sri Yathiraja Ramanuja Jeer who is also the patron of the Trust.
The original estimated cost for the construction of this building was Rs. 64 Lakhs and the fund raising was done by seeking donations and loans from philanthropists in India and abroad.
The Trust has been registered by the Income Tax Department under Section 12A of the Income Tax Act and exemption for donations has been obtained under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.
